Aviation Nation, sometimes referred to as America’s Air Show, is the annual award-winning air show of the United States Air Force. The show is hosted at Nellis Air Force Base in November of each year.
Being held at Nellis means that the Thunderbirds usually perform at this air show at their home base as their last show of the year. Since Nellis is the leading Air Force combat training center, the show is able to feature the newest Air Force aircraft like the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lighting II.
The air show is a three-day event and is open to the public for the last two days. General admission for the Air Show and public parking is located at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Parking at the Speedway is free, and visitors will use round-trip shuttle bus transportation to and from Nellis Air Force Base to view aircraft static displays, tour some aircraft, visit vending booths, and watch aerial demonstrations.
Gates open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m, The buses start running from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 9:00 a.m. and stop taking guests to the base at 1:00 p.m. Visitors on base can still ride the buses back to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway until 5 p.m.
Fees: No. Admission and parking is free!
